Reiki is not something done to you—it’s something awakened within you.
Contrary to what social media is trying to sell us… Reiki isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about support. It is a practice, a tool, an energy to help us help ourselves.
A few years ago, a man in his sixties came to me while recovering from a stroke. When he first sat down in my chair, he said, “Please help me help myself. I know I can heal myself, but I need you to show me how.”
We began with three consecutive Reiki sessions to help his body relax and regulate. From there, I taught him the basic self-care practice: the nine foundational Reiki hand positions so he could practice Reiki on himself every day.
A week into his self-practice, which I asked him to do for 21 consecutive days, he emailed me: “I’m not feeling anything. I don’t know if I’m doing it right. This isn’t working. But I’m willing to keep doing it anyway.”
A month later, when he returned for another session, he walked in with a big smile.
“You won’t believe it,” he told me, “but love found me.” I’ll never forget this experience.

Experiences like this reveal the essence of Reiki. That it’s a journey of the heart, of the soul. That’s it’s about connection, first with ourselves and then with others. That when we show up, with consistency and curiosity, and keep an open mind and heart, healing can find its way in surprising and beautiful ways.
This shift is not something that can be explained scientifically. With Reiki there are no promised outcomes or guaranteed results. That’s because Reiki always gives us what we need, not what we expect or want.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed, maybe it’s time to let Reiki support you. Not with promises or predictions, but with presence, possibility, and the power to take your healing in your own hands.
May you experience LOVE, PRESENCE and CALM – today and every day.
