We all know it. We all feel it. But what really is fear?
- There is this common description of the acronym:
- False Evidence Appearing Real
- There is a humorous way of looking at it:
- “F_” Everything And Run
- And then there is a mindset shift… a possibility I like to tap into when I am feeling in the grips of fear:
- Face Everything And Rise
Although it is uncomfortable, fear is like the body’s version of caution tape. It is a way of alerting the body to danger. Sometimes there’s real reason for fear. But sometimes the mind can play tricks. It’s only human. Just as it is a natural reaction to run (or freeze) from fear. But what if, depending on the situation of course, it wasn’t something to run from?
