I’ve been thinking a lot about balance lately – and came to the conclusion that there is no right way or wrong way. What’s working today may not work tomorrow. What’s needed today may be different tomorrow. The only moment I can respond to is now. Balance is very personal and individual, just like Reiki is a very individual and personal experience.
As we navigate life, with all its twists and turns, maybe this simple question and its answer can help you find or restore your balance:
“What do I need right now?”
In the picture, I am placing my hands in a balancing position. One hand on the forehead, the other on the hara, our energetic core and center, which is 1-2 inches below the navel. I invite you to try it too.
Breathe slowly and deeply into hara - and make the exhales longer than the inhales. Practice this for 5-10 minutes to restore balance and give your nervous system an opportunity to reset.
If you like, you can pair your breath with these words:
Breathing in, I calm my body (or mind, if that’s what’s chattering too loud)…
Breathing out, I relax…
