Do you Check your Energy?

Take ownership of the energy you posess, and practice good energy hygiene. By Andrea Kartika Deierlein

Do you brush your teeth before leaving the house? Wash your hands regularly? Run a comb through your hair? Of course you do!

But... what about practicing energetic hygiene? Or checking your energy before entering a space?

No, you can't get a toothbrush and scrub your aura. But you can include energy management into your daily routine, just the same as the way you clean and nurture your body. There are many simple energy hygiene activities and exercises you can do daily, for example:

1. Be present. This helps you focus. Your attention is not scattered all over the place, which saves your precious energy from leaking into the abyss of worry and anger. And it feels calmer for the people around you too.

2. Listen to, and respect your body. Your body is your GPS - and will tell you when it's time to add fuel, rest or reset. You can feel it when someone is hangry...

3. Give yourself grace - don't beat yourself up, when things get off track or you make a mistake. Shake things off, literally.

4. Imagine that your energy field is like Teflon, not Velcro, especially when dealing with challenging people or situations.

5. Wash things off. Listen to my 6-minute Reiki Shower meditation here

Energy management is not a one-time or one-stop fix. This is something that we need to be aware of and practice consistently, so it becomes part of daily routine.

There will be days that feel overwhelming, where thoughts will spin, everything goes wrong and you'll feel frazzled. That's ok! You are human, and these moments happen. But they will also pass.

By adding mindfulness and energy management tools into your daily routine, you'll experience that you can shift how you feel, that the only moment you can control is now - and that you're in control, one deep breath at a time.

P.S. Not sure you can do this on your own? You don't have to. I'm here for you and I'd love to hear about your situation. Just send me an email and we can arrange a time to talk.
